Mt. Everest Golden Lager sells out in 90 minutes at Kandara’s sold-out show in Manassas

All 20 cases of Firebird’s Mt. Everest Golden Lager sold out in the first hour and a half as legendary Nepali band Kandara played to a packed house at The Salisbury Center.

CHANTILLY, Va., September 29, 2026 — Mt. Everest Golden Lager from Firebird Breweries was one of the hits of the night at Kandara Live in the DMV, as the celebrated Nepali band played to a sold-out crowd at The Salisbury Center in Manassas, Virginia, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The venue ordered 20 cases of Mt. Everest for the concert, and every can was gone within the first hour and a half.

Feedback on the beer from concert-goers was enthusiastic.

About Kandara

Formed in Pokhara, Nepal, in 1992, Kandara blends Nepali folk melodies with pop and soft rock, and became one of the defining bands of Nepal’s 1990s music scene with songs such as “Hong Kong Pokhara” and “Lekaki Hey Maya.” The Manassas concert, part of the band’s North America tour and presented by AKB Company and Friends, drew fans from across the Washington, D.C. area’s Nepali and South Asian community.

The beer

Mt. Everest Golden Lager (4.0% ABV) is golden and smooth, with toasted-grain warmth and a touch of honeyed malt, brewed to pair with Indian, Nepali and spicy cuisine. It comes in 16 oz cans alongside its sister beer, Himalayan Pilsner (4.5% ABV).
